# Supplies and shopping

## How does the supply list work?

Every supply a roadmap uses is gathered into one list, grouped by the stage that first needs it, with optional ones apart. Open it from the Supplies button in the roadmap's header, or from "Gather your supplies first?" at the top of a new roadmap, and tick each one as Have or Need.

What you need goes on your shopping list in the Shop tab, with a suggested product, its price and a link to buy it where we found one. Hobbing is not a shop: we point you at the thing, and you buy it wherever you like.

## Do I have to buy everything on the list?

No, and we would rather you did not. Tick what you already own and it is never asked about again, on that step or any other that uses it. "I have all of these" fills in the ones you have not answered yet.

Steps only ask about the supplies still unanswered, and when everything is answered a step opens straight on the making.

## What is the Shop tab?

Your shopping list, across every roadmap: the supplies you said you need, with the estimated total. Supplies show up there as you answer them, and the ones you have bought move under "Got it".

## Why are my supply answers missing on another device?

Your Have and Need answers and your shopping list are kept on the device you gave them on, for now. Your roadmaps and your progress follow your account everywhere; the supply answers do not yet. Answer them again on the other device, or keep to one device for shopping.

## Can supplies and measurements be in my units?

Yes. Hobbing shows measurements in the units you picked, or your region's when you have not picked any. See https://www.hobbing.ai/help/account-and-settings#measurements. Paper weights such as "65 lb cardstock" stay as they are sold.
